Register Now! Candidate School – Winter 2026

On and off-field training begins during the winter of 2026, with classes starting in January or February.  Please check back periodically as to the specific dates. 

Our members officiate all public high school and middle school games in Nassau County. Many also coordinate and officiate youth and private school leagues in the area — a great way to earn extra income and sharpen your officiating skills. By taking our class, you’ll also be qualified to officiate girls flag football.

We plan to hold most classes in person at a convenient location in Nassau County (TBD), and all sessions will be recorded via Zoom. If you need to miss a class, recordings will be available.

Cost: $200

This includes:

•              First-year dues ($144, required for all officials)

•              Instructional classes

•              Rule books

•              Outdoor clinic during the summer 2026

 Certification Requirements:

You must be fingerprinted and registered with the NY State Department of Education if you haven’t already. Fingerprinting costs approximately $100.

Successful completion of the state mandated certification exam.
