Candidate School
Officials are needed to provide our
2010 Information: Candidate School will start March 1, 2010.
See the following. Invitation Thank you for your interest in becoming a Nassau County Football Official. The next class for new candidates will begin March 1, 2010.
Dates: Starting Monday March 1, 2010 @ Bethpage HS
Time: 7:00 PM thru 9:30 PM
Cost:$ 150.00
Add on Requirements: 1 mile walk/run
Final payment is due by the second class March 8th.
Attendance at class is mandatory, only one excused absence will be
allowed.
The fee for all the classes is
$150.00: this includes books, hand outs, midterm & final exams, the state
exam and New York State Certification. It also includes your 2010 LIAFO
dues, door prizes, and give-a-ways. Bring a note pad, pen or pencil and a
folder for handouts to class every night.
After successful completion of this
school and the mile walk/run you will be presented for membership in
LIAFO. Once accepted and passing the Part II NY State Test in August you
will be a certified Official in New York State and a member of the National
Federation of Football Officials.
This will provide you the opportunity to start Officiating contests throughout Nassau County at 58 High Schools and several Youth programs in Nassau and Suffolk Counties. Youth programs have the majority of their games on Sunday and pay the officials on the field. School games are assigned by NASSAU BOCES and the pay is paid by check at the end of the season. The 2010 Candidate School will be managed by Second Vice President Mike Mormino.
